It’s been a really tough week, and that’s been reflected in the topics of our blogs.
The rage and hurt expressed in Baltimore found its way into two blog posts, one offering prayer and another reminding us to listen to the minority voice when we don’t know what to say.
The irony of Earth Day / week being “derailed” by the devastation of a massive earthquake did not go unnoticed.
In the midst of all this, we were reminded that when the going gets tough, that God is everywhere. We can find sacred in the everyday, remembering the connection between healing the world and healing ourselves. Sometimes the best we can do is to pray for peace and bake some bread.
We can help our congregations by trying to be truly welcoming to all, being present and taking the journey one step at a time, helping others to bring scripture alive by remembering that the foundation of it all is love.
We can encourage one another by celebrating extraordinary women and remembering the value of all the groups that support us in various ways.
And, when nothing else will help, well, we can always turn to a good book! The books reviewed this past week were numerous:
The Books of a 24 Hour Reading Marathon
And, of course….. there’s always There’s A Woman in the Pulpit! And if you’ve already read the book, then be sure to read these reviews!
