I read a children’s sermon today.  It was less than 200 words and probably took the pastor a mere smattering of minutes to deliver.  It was a sermon about forgiveness and patience, about recognizing the God in our brothers and sisters (and the hard work that it is to do that sometimes).  It was a sermon about love.

And, God, it was about the best sermon that I’d heard in a long time, yet I wasn’t even the intended audience.

God, help us to hear from you in unintended places.  Help us to be captive albeit unintended audiences for how your Holy Spirit will find us, convict us, and never ever leave us the same.

We hope you'll join the conversation!
