With Rev. Jan Edmiston
January 25-30, 2016
Carnival Fascination – Jacksonville, Florida
Our congregations make plans, tweak systems, and create new endeavors in hopes of growing and thriving. But if we do not know our congregation’s culture, our brilliant strategies fall flat.
- Are there Mean Girls in our congregations?
- Do we shame people who bring KFC to potlucks?
- Do people ignore the rules about smoking in the parking lot but have an ecclesiastical fit if somebody brings coffee into the sanctuary?
- How do we shift a culture?
Join presenter the Rev. Jan Edmiston to dig deeper into the cultures in which we work and play. Jan joined RevGalBlogPals in 2005 after founding member MaryAnn McKibben Dana encouraged her to write a blog: A Church for Starving Artists. She has served as a pastor in Schaghticoke, NY and Alexandria, VA and she is now the Associate Executive Presbyter for Ministry in The Presbytery of Chicago PCUSA. Her family includes her spouse Fred Lyon and their three twenty-something children who all live in NYC. She would travel all the time if she could.
Jan is also a contributor to the to the RevGals book, There’s a Woman in the Pulpit (SkyLight Paths).
