Monday Prayer

Monday!
How did it get to be Monday again already?
O God of all time, I know that time does not bind you
Yet, it does seem to bind us
It limits us
It scares us with deadlines and appointments and calendars and desk books…

Oh Holy Mother
Help me to breathe today
To sigh and to rest
To stop watching time… even for a few minutes
Just to bask in your arms
To know that all time is in your hands
And that all our days are measured.

And if we look forward to another day and another time, help us to simply pause in this day, in this time
And stop doing in order that we can simply be
Just for a while
Being ourselves in the moment

So that we get the refreshing, the renewal, the restoration our bodies and spirits need, for all the time ahead

This moment
and all moments
Amen
