Oh Holy One,
Who calls us to honesty,
in reflection and practice,
We pray for our hearts to be opened and clear and intentional.
This is the season for giving, and we have asked you what we should do, and you have have answered:
We give what we have to those who have not, again and again and again. We should not ask for more than we are owed, we should not threaten or bully. You ask us to live with more simplicity, and offer beauty from the abundance we have.
Help us to strip down to what is important, and then do what we can to help others have what is important: safety, love, connection, and direction. Help us plant what is needed so that others might have the joy of bearing fruit, the joy of giving, the joy of living into all they have been created to be.
We live in expectation. We hope, we wait, we yearn, for the good news to be proclaimed into this world. We yearn to be your good news. Lead us, guide us, exhort us.
In the name of the Coming One we pray,
Amen.
