Sweet Lord,

I am one week into my Lenten journey, and my practice has been to simply remind myself everyday to do one thing that might bring me closer to Your heart.  One day, I wrote. Another I fasted.  There was a morning breathing meditation, and then the time I remembered to practice random kindness and yesterday I lingered in conversation instead of curling into my introverted-ness and excusing myself.  I have turned off the news, and I have turned to poetry.

I even have prayed.  I hope to do justice more clearly in the weeks ahead.

Honestly, I am not sure if it has brought be closer to your cosmic heart, but it has drawn me into more intentional and deliberate presence of moment.  As I continue this endless finite journey, I pray that I might be transformed by Moment, that I might connect to your suffering, as well as your joy, and your courage, as well as your fear, and your love, as well as your indignance, and your Mercy upon all mercy.

Help me, I pray.

Amen.
