Oh how I wish I had the words!
But all I have is cries from the soul.
Oh how I wish the cry did not go up…
again
and again
and again and again
How long?
why?
Again?
I feel my privilege more keenly than ever
I am white
I am British
I am cocooned
And yet still…
the cry goes up from my heart
How long O God will this go on?
How long O God will people make judgments; make hasty decisions; shoot first talk later; choose fear, choose hate, choose mistrust?
How long will some have to teach their children fear rather than love?
How long
How
Long
O God
How Long

My sermon Sunday concluded with that same cry. It’s becoming a daily prayer isn’t it? http://wp.me/p3ddtz-13c
