There is so much that is terrible, Holy God.
There is so much violence, and so much death and so much horror.
We are hurting and we are wounded and we are perishing, Holy God.
There is so much violence and so much death and so much horror.
The arc of the moral universe is so very long, Holy God.
There is so much violence and so much death and so much horror.
The arc of the moral universe is long, Holy God, and… and we are reminded that the arc of the moral universe, though long, bends toward justice.
So while we wait and work and worship and  walk and  write and raise our voices in shout and in prayer, we sometimes pause.  Just for a moment, a hour, an evening.  In that moment, that hour, that evening, we hum into that long, long, long universe and into our own hurting hearts one simple, grateful tune.
Bless your beautiful world. Please, bless your beautiful world.   Amen.
