IMG_1812Holy One of the Rugged Hills,
Our help is in you.
You are steadfast, strong, and still.
You, who made all that is, this whole universe,
You know where we stand,
You will not let us slip or stumble to our end.
No,
You do not sleep.
You do not slumber.
You keep us in the shadow of your hand,
You keep our lives,
Knowing all the time,
Where we are and where we go.
You know our fears,
You know our terror,
You know our thoughts,
and still,
You keep us close.
Oh Divine Love!
We pray for those who do not know this glory!

We offer prayers, today, for our world, and for the places that suffer from violence,
from oppression, from injustice.
(silent prayer)

We offer prayers, today, for our country, for those who live in fear of racism,
who live in fear of losing their safety nets,
who feel like they are at the bottom of the rung of society.
(silent prayer)

We offer prayers, today, for those who are threatened by justice.
For those who are scared of equality.
For those who can’t imagine a world without their power and privilege.
(silent prayer)

We offer prayers, today, for those who are sick.
For those who have lost their way.
For those who suffer from addiction and loss.
For those who are sad and lonely and depressed.
(silent prayer)

Oh Divine Love!
Help us be harbingers of your glory and care!
Help us be voices for your justice and peace!
Help us be disciples of your love and mercy!

In Christ, our brother and friend and redeemer, we pray.

Amen.
