Grace-filled God, as the sun travels across the sky,
some of your people search in garbage cans for food,
or open empty cupboards again,
while others are fed too much.
Some wait in hospital beds, while others plan funerals.
Some walk to school, looking over their shoulders with worry,
and others are being called ugly names.
Innocent people wait in prison for their day,
and guilty people enjoy their freedom.
Come in power, we pray, and set the world right,
we call to you in our hope, and in our despair, Amen.
