June is in sight. And thoughts of summer fill my heart.
Long lazy days… once were mine.
Nowadays Precious One, lazy days are a distant memory.
My life is filled with the cares of the world
The cares of those in my care
The cares of loved ones
The cares of your church…

Help us pause awhile,
Help us take some lazy, carefree moments this summer.
Or this month.
Or this week…
Or even, just this day.
A moment to remember that we were created beings, not doings…

Holy One,
Helps us to simply be
To smell the roses
To stare at the water
To seek the mountain top
To live in that single moment
And know you are with us
In it

  1. “remember that we were created beings, not doings…” Lovely and profound; thank you so much, Julie. Just printed out those words in 90-point type and put them on my refrigerator.

Prayers that you find your own sabbath rest today.
