When all is said and done, what will you say about me, O God?

That I spent my sabbath binging television series? That I snuggled with my children and beloved on the couch, or that I closed myself indoors escaping to other worlds all while your sun shone on our creation outside?

Its all a matter of degrees isn’t it?

Will you be compassionate and gracious? Will you understand my need to escape? Or will you see it as a waste of the gifts you gave me?

I believe you will be kind. Perhaps you are more upset that I lock myself away in an office all week to do “your work” rather than in the world.

So I choose that you are enjoying Game of Thrones, or House of Cards, or Kimmie Schmidt as much as I am.

I’m going to choose that you understand and love me anyway. May t be so for us all. Amen.

  1. a bit of everything today for me … some yard work, some sermon writing, some catching up around the house, some eating outdoors on the back deck and all things in between. I certainly hope God understands and is kind to me too!!!

We hope you'll join the conversation!
