Good morning, Friend!

I had a glimmer today

that the upended way this world feels,

the funhouse aspect of it all

is really a gift

I’ve heard of “comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable”

and here we have it. Famine, massacre, -isms galore, church ugliness, world ugliness

and in the meantime, we move ahead with our small attempts to be better,

do better,

make better.

We haven’t just all gone to bed!

You give us courage and coffee and intestinal fortitude each day

Thank you for the mess

that keeps us paying attention

May we always be alert and alive.

Come alive
