We thank you,
for all the ways in which we are sustained:
by heartbeat and breath;
by food and drink;
by the love of friends;
by rhythms of exercise and rest;
by your grace, always by your grace.
On this day we particularly give you thanks for Jesus:
Whether we remember that today
in formal celebration of sacrament,
toast at the breakfast table,
lunch with friends,
or a hastily slapped together sandwich
between the demands of the day,
keep us mindful of the One
whose life nourishes and sustains us.
Make us Christ’s body,
that sustained by the Living Bread,
we might be your living presence in our world.
We pray in the name of Jesus,
