When the Lord restored the fortunes of Zion
we were like those who dream.    Psalm 126:1

“We were like those who dream”,
the ancients proclaim,
when restoration and return to home
happened after hope against hope.
It was surreal and yet true,
a dream.

Make me like those who dream, dear God.
Help me in the midst of the chaos and madness,
of all that is around me,
to dream with purpose and faith,
in practical and completely foolish over the top ways.

May I not be pulled into jaded thoughts,
or heavy skepticism.
Because I can easily do that, You know.

Make me like those who dream.
