O God of tenderness, my pain stems from being squeezed between love and hardship. I know you ache with me, and that the rain you bestow upon the earth is one of the ways that you share my tears. Help me buffer the assaults of difficult moments by releasing the balm of love. Draw me nearer to you, as the moon draws the tides, and let the melody of divine delight dispel the grief that afflicts my bones. Call forth the love that trembles in my heart, that the fullness of its power may soften the thorns beneath my feet, and carry me forward into a brighter day. Stay close, merciful One, that the warmth of your presence may melt my fear and embolden the love that quivers in my weary breast. I entrust it all to you, for the sake of all that is broken and blessed.
