Wednesday Prayer

Spirit, breath of life,

awaken in us this day, we pray,

the gift of seeing the shining web of connection

between ourselves and others.

 

As we bump into each other today,

working together, talking over coffee,

holding a tired hand or speaking a patient word,

help us to find the grace in each other.

As we aggravate each other today,

speak and hear harsh words,

swallow disappointment or voice rage,

help us to find your divine spark in each other.

 

For those who serve through cooking,

teaching, managing others,

making coffee, sweeping floors,

dispensing information or wisdom,

filling out forms or answering the phone,

we are grateful for the places where our lives touch,

as we know that you carry

and care

for us all.
