God of the tortoise and the hare,
I’m slow moving today.
As I’m at work each night until 9pm
I can’t sleep as soon as I arrive home.
Mornings arrive too fast,
And I am still zombie-like at 10am.
May the coffee I’ve imbibed kick in soon.
May my first or second or third wind deliver me from exhaustion.
May the excitement I have for today drive out drowsiness
And give me a sense of eagerness to get this day started. Amen.
