A winter sky in Auckland, New Zealand. (Photograph author’s own).

Dear God,

We hear stories that make us despondent.
We hear stories that make us afraid.
We hear stories of callousness, of indifference,
of prejudice, of hate.

We are looking:
looking for signs of hope,
of seasons changing,
of new growth.

Help us to see your greening power at work in our world.
Help us to trust in the possibility of spring.

Save us, and help us,
we pray.
