Tropical storm off of Sanibel Island, FL

Lord,
Some of us today are walking in deep waters. We feel ripped apart by the rage and confusion around us. We truly fear for our safety and those we love. Help us stay calm and trusting in the one who calms the seas.

And Lord,
Some of us today are able to escape the storms (at least for today…) Whether by privilege or genes or a coincidence of timing, we are out of harm’s way. Help us look back and see who we might help. Remind us of the blessings and resources we can share.

Oh… and Lord?
Whenever we are hurting and feeling adrift, help us find our way back to you, our anchor and our hope.

Amen.

After the storm…
