On this day, in this hour, at this very moment,
We turn our whole hearts and minds and souls to You.
Meet us in our beings,
as we bid You to come in and stay.
There is so much,
even too much to pray for, and yet we beseech you with our prayers.
We grieve for those
suffering from the ravages of the powerful forces of hurricanes, blazing wild fires and shattering earthquakes.
We weep for entire tiny countries, and counties and communities
in of states of emergency or worse.
We ache for the loss of life,
loss of housing, the loss of everything.
We ask for protection for first responders, and recovery workers, and shelter keepers.
We ask for courage and strength for survivors.
Our minds turn to our world,
and we pray for immigrants who live in fear.
We pray for those who wage peace,
and for common sense and decency and kindness to rule.
Help us to remember how You created us,
In Your image,
to reflect your image,
Your unconditional, wide open loving image
in every corner of the neighborhoods of our lives.
For Love’s sake we pray,
