I’m looking for you.

I’m looking for you in the rants of the Twitter feed, in the pumpkin-spice flavors of the Facebook page, in the adrenaline boosting headlines of the news at the top of the hour.  But you are not there.

I’m looking for you.
I’m looking for you in this list of the top ten things all great churches do, in a book whose shiny cover promises help in attracting millennials, in the rock band on Sunday morning. But you are not there.

I’m looking for you.
I’m looking for you in neon lights of the shopping mall, in an even smarter new gadget to slide into my pocket, in a credit card swiped and swiped again.  But you are not there.

I’m looking for you.
I’m looking for you in the rain falling on a yellow leaf, in an old hand grasping a young one, in this breath and the next one and the next.
And here you are. Here you are.
