Brother Jesus,
Sometimes there is so much–too much, really,
To even begin to pray.
You know what I mean. Actually, you know it better than me.
The pain, the suffering,
the protest, the fight,
the denial,
on a hundred million levels.
and then, the battles in the lives of those we pass by everyday~
the addict trying to stay clean,
the terror of panic attacks appearing suddenly with appalling veracity …
the betrayal of a lover,
the child who is so, so sick,
the paycheck that is spent before it is cashed,
the utter sadness of loss.
In these times,
in this time, this moment,
We call upon your Holy Spirit,
Comforter, Sustainer, Guide
to come and rain upon us
your Truth. your Grace. your Mercy.
Amen.
