Dear God,
My friend Henry is  7
and his hope for the world is
more chocolate,
peace to the world
and forgiveness of sins.

On days when my hope wavers,
and the world seems to be
lurching from misery to catastrophe,
I give you thanks for Henry,
and borrow his prayer:

with thanksgiving for friends who share chocolate
with longing for peace for our world
with gratitude for your forgiveness and the grace received in relationships.
