neighbor in snow

The days are harried, the dark enshrouds, and still there is joy poking through the bustle and burdens. Melodies of holy wonder pierce the mindless chatter that abounds, and laughter overcomes the slog of weariness. Even in this season of seeming contradictions the way becomes clear, pointing one direction: toward hope, and promise, and revelation, and fulfillment. Your light touches everything, and if only for a moment, we find stillness within to reflect your radiance without, basking in all that is.

Anne Fraley is rector of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in South Windsor, CT. A life-long dog-lover, she escapes the demands of parish life volunteering for animal rescue groups. She occasionally succeeds at reviving her blog at reverent irreverence.
