O Root of Jesse,

As Christmas approaches,

in this year where the calendar has accordioned the season,

We wonder how to get it all done: worship, shopping, cooking, travel.

And yet, the truth: we will never have as much time as we think

So we pray for peace and rootedness in you.

We pray for those who are alone, lonely, ill this season

We pray for our communities, nations, the world,

We pray for new growth in your Spirit.
