So many hands, O God, have touched my day,
the person who picked the coffee,
and the one who keeps the water flowing, clear and clean,
the woman (as I imagine her…not a child, I pray) who sewed my shirt
and the driver who kindly lets me in to traffic.
At the office, so many minds together plan our work;
joyful people brighten the day,
while cranky ones teach me the power of keeping quiet.
So many gifts touch this day, generous God.
May all the givers, seen and unseen, know peace and justice,
health and strength in their own lives,
and wherever I touch someone’s life, I pray it would come as a soft blessing today.
Amen.
