(with a nod to Psalm 107)
Spacious Love,
You gather us in,
From the east and west,
From the south and north,
and every place in between
to the heart of your deliverance.
We seek you in the cloak of evening shadows, and You are there.
We cry out to you, with fainting souls, from the wilderness of our lives, and You lead us out of trouble.
We get caught in gloom,
prisoners of our pride,
and You break in with patient grace.
We are lost in the rubble of sickening doubt,
and You bring to us the balm of healing.
Oh Spacious Love!
You still the storms,
You water the deserts,
You bring forth fruit in salty wasteland,
You build and bless, with blessing upon blessing.
Make of us wise pilgrims,
followers on Your paths of goodness.
Make of us faithful people,
sowers and planters of your deep and wide eternal love.
In the name of all that is Holy,
Amen.
