Let us not commit (too much) heresy tomorrow
as we try to explain your inexplicable three-in-oneness:
the eternal communion of the Godhead,
the perichoresis of the Divine life,
the baffling reality that is You, our one God, as Trinity.
As we stumble through sermons and liturgy
bless our language, that:
our metaphors might be better than ridiculous,
our Greek and Latin terms might be aptly explained,
our pronouns might reflect Your fullness.
But mostly, let us rest in the mystery,
the beautiful, sacred, confounding, mystery
that is You—all of You—
in relationship with us—all of us,
now and forever.
