Jesus, Brother and Border Crosser,
May we be your feet marching steadily, as you did, into places of fear and grief and danger.

Jesus, Brother and Border Crosser
May we be your hands, reaching, as you did, across imaginary lines drawn in sand.

Jesus, Brother and Border Crosser,
May we be your mouth, prophesying, as you did, woe to the powerful who shut others out or caged others in.
Jesus, Brother and Border Crosser,
May we be your arms, gathering, as you did, all the children into love’s embrace.
Jesus, Brother and Border Crosser,
May we be your heart, broken but still strong, roaring a drumbeat of truth and courage, justice and compassion.
Amen.
