Again, dear Beloved One,
I face your heart
without the words or sighs to pray.
I am lost. You are lost.
I grieve with You, I probably don’t grieve as much as you.
Where is your kin-dom?
Where is the respite for the suffering, my God, so much suffering.
And hate. And angst. And sheer awful-ness.
It would be easy for me to curl up on the couch and read comic books today.
Well, I would have to find some comic books to read. But I won’t. I will not be stopped by the happenings of the day, of the world, of evil.
No, I will not be stopped or paralyzed by fear and lament.
I will, instead,
look for the ways in which you call me today,
to persist,
to resist,
to offer healing Love,
and hope against hope.
I will find You, o God,
And love and serve You.
Amen.
