Divine Love-

I’m out of words.

I stare blankly at walls, at floors, at news stories, at my own children.

I fight and fight and fight and it does not end,

But the struggle is not mine to abandon.

If ever you truly did cause the earth to swallow the disobedient,

If ever you truly did send bears out of the woods to eat those who tormented the prophets,

If ever you truly did punish with swiftness and vigor,

Can you do the same now?

I ask this knowing that I might be caught in the cataclysm, but what is happening cannot stand.

Make it stop, I cry to you.

Make it stop, I hear You call back.

If vengeance is truly yours, Lord, is it not time?
