Holy Mystery,
I pray today
to connect to Your Presence.
I know You are There…
and I am over here,
and although that knowledge is a comfort,
I pray for the There and Here to come closer together.
Do I really want that? I don’t know, frankly. I know I should want that,
your Sacred Connection. But it sounds like so much work, and I am so busy right now getting my email inbox down to a reasonable number (what is reasonable? 2,000? 100?) and trying to be organized so that come September I will Be Ready for Fall.
Actually, it is easier for me to stay over here,
Knowing that You are There.
I guess I don’t know what the hell I am praying for.
But I am praying.
to You who are There.
to You who is even Here, even though I don’t know it.
Amen.
