Morning worship at the butterfly bush

Holy One,

I am a bit bedraggled,
and my body is worse for wear.
And yet I rise and follow,
and I seek the tasks you have set for me
and for my fellow travelers.

You alone are the source of hope,
of sweetness at the end of a struggle,
of joy in the midst of a heavy load.
You bring the light and the shadows,
You send the nourishing rain
and gentle winds that refresh my heart.

My broken wings flutter on,
and there You are:
the sweet breath of Joy,
the providence of Grace,
the deep roots of Growth,
the Presence of Christ,
the wind of the Spirit,
lifting me,
sending me,
reflecting You.

Amen.
