Star (planet) rising

Thank you, God,
For my first glimpse of this world today
was quiet, and ethereal,
and your peace flowed over me
like the blanket over my body…
I am covered in your mercy,
I am nestled in your grace.

Thank you, God,
For the rhythm of our days
can drown out your voice,
like all the tasks on my calendar,
the people and places you take me to,
the heartaches you ask me to hold close…
I am praying for your wisdom,
I am hoping for your healing.

Thank you, God,
For your strong arm of justice
that calls me to walk boldly,
even when I am afraid,
even when I make mistakes,
even when I can’t see you working…
I am counting on your Spirit
I am leaning on your power
I am looking, always looking
for a glimpse of your Presence.
