You teach us
that welcome
is more beautiful than greatness.

You show us
that loving the least of these
is the strongest we can be.

Even when we are afraid to ask You questions,
You continue to lead us.
Even when we are embarrassed
by dreaming of riches and comfort,
You remind us
of what is truly important.

The ways in which you put up with our obtuseness
are persistent and clear and forgiving.
You guide us,
You don’t abandon us,
You refuse to give up.

We are your confused and questioning and grateful people.
