Creator God,

I feel the change;
a brittleness,
a lack of flexibility,
a resistance to change…
It’s a full stop
when growing season ends.

I know there are times of rest
and growth.
You guide them,
season by season.
Help me reflect, restore, renew,
rebuild and redesign.
Help me accept your Spirit’s tending,
even pruning,
so that when the next growth comes,
my roots are deep,
my heart is soft, fertile ground,
my hands are strong and ready.

There is beauty
even in the stopping.
There is strength
even in the silence.
There is renewal
even in the death of the familiar.

Thank you
Thank you
Thank you
