I think a lot about sanctification.
That particular theological undertaking is not often pondered in Lutheran circles, since we are heaven-bent on emphasizing justification.
Yet, I cannot believe that God brings us into right relationship with the Divine and with creation, only to let us remain the same for the entirety of our lifespan.
I am confident that the Holy Spirit, She who brings creation out of chaos, sharpens us for the sake of growth in faithfulness and for the sake of Christ’s need in the world.
Spirit of power and transformation-
On the whetstone of God’s will for the world, sharpen my courage, my wisdom, and my strength that I may more fully become who God has made me to be.
Amen.
