Turn, O God! How long?
Have compassion on your servants!
Satisfy us in the morning with your steadfast love,
so that we may rejoice and be glad all our days. ~Psalm 90:13-14
God of all places and times, we are waiting.
We are waiting for your compassion
to spread across your beautiful and broken world
like honey from the comb
making sweet what is still so bitter.
We are waiting for signs of your steady love
made manifest in the way we care for one another
children and grandmothers,
soldiers and farmers,
Christ-followers and mitzvah-performers and five-times-a-day pray-ers
and those whose faith is in science and
and those whose faith is othered
and those whose faith is met with deadly force.
We are waiting for the day when all people will answer your prayer,
to satisfy you with our love in the morning,
So that you might rejoice, and be glad all our days.
Amen, let it be.
