Precious Holy,

The sight of the tree, acting as host to the vine
The knowledge of Holy Design, which gives life to the other
The hope of two, entwined, supporting, nourishing,
Showing us potential…

Precious One,
when we seek each other
seek to know more
seek to learn from each other’s experiences,
may we be aware that you are there also
that you will bless the conversations
that you will inspire our words, our listening, our response
Help us to value each other
to give each other space
to resist jumping in with our own stories, when what we really need to do is pause…

God of holy pausing,
bless our words this day
our silences
our actions
and our connections,
that you will be with us,
in each moment…
dawn to dusk…

  1. Yes and amen. And I do not know the tree you used as an image for this prayer (I do so often pray with my eyes) but it reminds me of Tane Mahuta, the great kauri in Aotearoa.

We hope you'll join the conversation!
