made shiny and new.
Help us to be transfigured too…
and shiny people
Glowing with your love
sharing that love and allowing it to shine bright.
As the season of preparation approaches…
and the shine is banished for 40 days
remind us, to wash our faces and show the world
that even in sackcloth and ash
your love is undiminished
your brightness dispels darkness
In our world
in this season
your light is needed more than ever
we may wear ash on our heads
but your love still fills our hearts
even in sorrow – let beams of love shed light
even in emptiness – let rays of hope break through
even in anger – let moments of glory be glimpsed
May our feet be ever clad in shiny shoes
walking the ways of radiant love
Amen and Amen
