I confess. I don’t know how to do Lent right.
I try with devotions and changing the habits.
I try with journaling and space-finding.
I try with art and poetry and candles and scents and all of it.
I try with all the things you’re supposed to do to be good and holy and repentant and extra, very Lent-like.
And every year I fail.
And then it becomes about that.
So how about this year,
I don’t try to Lent so hard.
And I just try now, and all the seasons,
To love you.
To seek you.
To scream at you.
To be with you.
To remind myself to really try and trust you.
And how about you try to hang in there with me too?
(I’d I promise to let you. Ha!)
