I stood on the rocks today.

And there was beauty and wonder all around,

Mountains and snow,

Birds and sun,

Sand and breeze,

It was all so big, and wide, and grand-

But I kept looking down

At the rocks beneath my feet.

Jagged and rough and covered in moss and slimy somethingness.

And the rocks were me.

Harsh and solid and hard to move.

But as I stood there,

And kept looking down at myself,

I saw you.

Didn’t even care how hard I tired to ignore or fight or reject you.

You waters snuck in.

Over and over again.

The tiny, soft,

delicate and careful,

waves of life

and love and grace and

Poured in.

Poured through.

Over the edges,

Between the spaces.

Finding me.

Your rhythm.

Your ease.

Your refreshment.

Your salty, sweet wonderfulness.

It found me.

It kept finding me.

And for a moment,

I could,

I did,

I let myself,

receive it.

Thank you.

For finding me.
