Mighty trees fall
who hears their crash?
Who tells their tale?
We who watch, and wait, and pray,
we must use our voices to name the mighty fallen ones

Precious Holy,
there are mighty trees in our world,
fallen, crushed, destroyed,
not by the force of nature,
but of man.
Men who arm themselves and set out to bring down those who are different
Men who set out to destroy the other,
not realising that the other is still the same
and not different at all.

Holy One,
for those who grieve
and those who rage
for those who are wordless
and those who speak
for those who feel helpless
and those who need to act

For all your children,
from east to West
North to South
Day and night
Winter and Summer
Spring and fall,

for all your beloved ones,
who are our beloved ones
we seek peace, love, hope,
We seek forgiveness and healing,
and always
