Oh God!
Where are my words today?
Where do my thoughts go?
What should I pray?
How shall I name?
Who needs these words, these thoughts, these prayers?
As Lent progresses, and my thoughts collide,
I seek to know.
How shall I pray to you – Holy One?
I look around my world:
I see devastation
desperation
deprivation
and also devotion
dependence
direction
Guide us to know how to help
Show us where to speak up
Inspire us to react responsibly
Invigorate us for the road ahead
That we may know, really know,
all is not lost
and in all things, you will be with us.
Hear our prayers,
this Monday in March, in Lent,
with words and with silence
today,
Amen.
