As the dawn sparks a new day, and we rise from a solid night of sleep, God, I wonder…
Why do I feel so lousy?
Why do I feel extremely fatigued? Why is my stomach flipping the way it is? Why is my body just a little achy as I go about my day?
Not sick but not fully well, I put on my big kid pants and go about my day. But God… I need some extra energy. I need a spiritual Dramamine to settle my stomach and soul. I need some tea for my spirit to calm my nerves. And I hope for some sunshine to energize me on my long day ahead.
For the spiritual medicines you give to me, God, I send my gratitude. Without the power of your Spirit, I wouldn’t make the day ahead.
Amen.
