What happened to March?

It blew in with ice and wind
offered a few hints of
warmth and sun, of
what’s to come.
Now it’s seeping away
a day of gentle rain
washing away the
grime of winter.

What happened to March?

After a harsh and seemingly
endless winter, March blew in
and before I know it, March is over.
What happened to Mach?
Lent. The season of Lent
wafted in with March
but Lent will continue
for three more weeks,
well into April.

Lent, the way of love,
turn, learn,
pray, worship,
bless,
go!
rest.
Lent, the season
to explore how –
and what – it means
to live
the way of love.

As Jesus did,
I wonder
if Spring will really be here
when Easter arrives?
Easter, the season of
God’s love revealed
anew. Resurrection
of love, of life,
in flowers and
in us.

I’m ready. Ready for
long walks
planting my garden
coffee on the deck
herbs and flower pots
grilling something for dinner
sandals and
pedicures
kids at the park
I’m ready.

So what happened to March?

Its come and gone quickly.
But I’m okay with that.
I’m ready.
Thank you, holy one,
creator of all,
for the seasons of life.
Amen.
