This morning, although it was still dark,
the birds
were singing in full chorus. I let
the dogs
outside and noticed that the air
was almost warm.
I thought
Spring is here.

Easter is in two weeks,
and in the meantime
the last week of Lent
and Holy week still
need to be travelled through.
But –
for this morning,
the birds are singing their morning song,
and Spring is in the air.

Thank God. I’m ready.
Ready for long walks.
Ready for gardening.
Ready for flowers.
Ready for coffee on the deck.
Ready to be out in the sun.
Ready for warmth.

Spring is in the air, and I’m ready.
Thank you God for this day.
