God, it hurts so much to move today
But with all that is going on, do I truly have the luxury of sitting still?
God, it hurts deeply to know and see and hear about all of the devastation experienced daily across the globe
But do I have the right to disconnect? Binge watch my favorite series? Choose to not show up every time, yet simply pray?
God, I am sorry about all of this whining, I know that not everything is about me.
But sometimes it has to be. Unapologetically. The pain is real.
Help me, O God, to put on my oxygen mask first—and quickly!—so that I might be fully capable of getting to the work of helping others and together making sure we all live.
Amen.
