It’s summer, God, and I’m going here and there.
Remind me that you, also, are here
And each step in between.
It’s busy, God, and I’m planning for this and that.
Remind me that even if this isn’t perfect
And if that doesn’t quite work out,
Your grace is sufficient.
It’s hard, God, to hold this world’s violence and pain.
Remind me that your heart breaks with mine,
That your Spirit guides and empowers,
That your people walk and work together.
May what I know in my head
Be known in my heart
As I go here and there
Seeking to do the this and that you call me to
In this painful and beautiful world.
